This is a photography taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt in 1945 on time square, this picture is one of my many favorite photographs. Many people don’t realize that this couple is in fact not even a couple. The Sailor and nurse did not even know each other the sailor was so overwhelmed with joy of the news of the Japanese surrender from WWII he randomly grabbed her and kissed her. Not quite as romantic as it looks uh…i still like to imagine it as it looks, long lost lovers finding each other on time square after not seeing each other for a long time.
